Clarksville’s Red brings State Championship to Clarksville

The Clarksville National Red 7/8 year old Girls Softball team beat Giles County 13-7 to win the State Championship tournament held in Pulaski, TN.
The CN Red Bulls made history by winning the first State Tournament ever sanctioned by Little League for 7/8 yr old softball. The Red Team consisted of All-Star players from regular season teams (Angels, Slick Sluggers, Wildcats and Rompers).
The CN Red Bulls lost the first game of the district North Tournament to Stewart County. They
played their way through the losers bracket and caught back up with Stewart County at the District North and South Championship tournament in Charlotte, TN. The Red Bulls beat Stewart County twice to win the District 9 Championship. The Red Bulls entered the State Tournament on a roll beating Maryville and Giles County to gain the advantage in the winners’ bracket, having to be beat twice.
The Red Bulls lost 12-11 in the first game of the championship but rebounded with a 13 – 7 win over Giles county to capture the State Title. Proving that Clarksville had the best 7-8 girls softball team in the
State of Tennessee. The Red Bulls were coached by Michael Blackwell, Doyle Robertson, Angie Adkins,
Mike Rios, Alison Hayes and Jensey Washam.
Michael Blackwell says, “the skill and the ability of these girls is a product of the Clarksville National girls
league and their coaches. Terry Milliken (Slick Sluggers), Regina Hamption (Angels), Doyle Robertson (Wildcats) and Michael Blackwell (Rompers). He also added the commitment made by the parents and local sponsors like Moore’s Construction and Schott Family Practice made our league and town a success. Congratulations to our hometown Girls and thank you for your hard work and dedication.
GO RED BULLS.
